Frequently asked questions

A little clarity before your test

What to expect from your free water consultation

Is the water test really free?

Yes. The in-home water test and consultation are free, with no obligation to buy. If you choose certified third-party laboratory testing, your water expert will explain any costs before a sample is sent

What happens during my appointment?

A water expert discusses your concerns, checks basic water indicators and explains the results. Basic on-site results are typically available in about 30 minutes. You can then discuss suitable water treatment options, with no pressure to purchase

What's the difference between my city's report and a home water test?

Your utility's Consumer Confidence Report describes the public water system. An at-home check looks at water from your own tap, where your water source and home plumbing can affect the readings. Basic testing does not identify every contaminant or establish that water is safe to drink

Can you test for lead, PFAS or bacteria?

These concerns require appropriate laboratory analysis rather than basic on-site readings. Based on your water source and concerns, your expert can discuss certified third-party lab testing and explain any additional costs

What if my home uses a private well?

Tell us when you request your appointment. Private well water needs a testing approach suited to the source and local concerns. Your expert can explain the role of on-site readings and laboratory analysis for issues such as bacteria, nitrate or arsenic

Why is Southern California water often hard?

Much of Southern California uses imported water, including Colorado River supplies containing calcium and magnesium. These hardness minerals can contribute to scale and spotting on fixtures and glassware

Can I choose an evening or Saturday appointment?

You can request an evening or Saturday time window in the form. All times are Pacific Time. Karofi will contact you to confirm service coverage and availability before the visit

Can I start with a phone consultation?

Yes. Choose "Phone consultation" in the form or call 833-452-7634. A water expert can discuss your concerns and help you decide on an appropriate next step
